HUSB238 will help reduce electronic waste caused by more than one million tons of power adapters generated every year. HUSB238 is a highly integrated USB PD sink controller (PD Sink), which can transmit rated power up to 100W. It is compatible with PD3.0 V1.3 and Type-C V1.4. It can also support BC1.2 DCP, CDP and SDP and Apple 5V2.4A charging protocol. It can be used for electronic devices with traditional barrel connectors or USB micro-B power connectors, such as Internet of Things devices, wireless chargers, drones, smart speakers, power tools, and other devices. HUSB238 is available in 3mmx3mm DFN-10L and 5mmx6mm SOP-8 package types.

HUSB238 has obtained the PD3.0 certification of USB-IF and has excellent performance in compatibility, reliability and performance. Under the high temperature environment of 125°C in the Huinengtai laboratory, HUSB238 has withstood more than one hundred thousand times of 0V-25V rapid voltage surge.

HUSB238 system diagram is shown as in Fig. 4. HUSB238 communicates with USB PD Source, and handshake between USB Type-C and PD is realized through the USB-C connector. HUSB238 can control the load switch to realize VBUS overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, overcurrent protection and reverse current blocking. The embedded controller can access HUSB238 through the I2C interface for monitoring and advanced settings.

HUSB238 has the characteristics of small package (minimum 3mmx3mm), small number of pins (minimum 8 pins), high integration (minimum only one capacitor is required), etc., which minimizes the BOM cost, simplifies the design, and enables developers to Switch their products quickly. Huinengtai accelerated the transition from barrel connector to USB-C connector through the HUSB238 Demo toolkit. Developers can quickly develop products without firmware development.
